The Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC) has found evidence of suspected bid-rigging in 30 government tenders worth a total of RM108.3 million, Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali told the Dewan Rakyat.

Winding up the Budget 2027 debate for his ministry in the Dewan Rakyat on 28 October, Armizan said the tenders, for food supply and cleaning contracts, involved 12 public sector entities: six ministries, three public universities, two state Islamic religious departments and one federal statutory body.

He said MyCC issued a proposed decision against the enterprises involved on 13 October. The evidence included centralised coordination and preparation of tender documents, the exchange of information including proposed bid prices, financial sharing and the sharing of staff.

Armizan said MyCC had taken enforcement action against 58 companies over suspected bid-rigging, with penalties totalling RM98.49 million, and was investigating 510 companies over tenders worth more than RM3 billion in the public and private sectors.

Separately, the Education Ministry is looking into several companies that share the same registered address, amid allegations of collusion in tenders for cooked food supply for 2027 to 2029.
