Malaysia remains committed to the RM100 million for Gaza’s reconstruction announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in 2025, but the aid cannot be delivered yet because security on the ground has deteriorated, Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said.

Winding up the policy-stage debate on the Supply Bill 2027 for his ministry in the Dewan Rakyat on 26 October, Mohamad said the funds would be channelled once conditions improved, so that they reach those in need effectively.

He said the situation in Gaza was not getting better, with Israel’s actions growing more aggressive.

Since 2023, RM89 million has been channelled through the Humanitarian Trust Fund for the People of Palestine (AAKRP), with more than RM12 million disbursed this year.

Mohamad also told the House that Malaysia is diversifying its sources of crude oil and fertiliser in light of the crisis in West Asia, and is exploring phosphate supplies from Algeria and Jordan.
